By comparison, this is a straightforward singer-songwriter session, with simple and refined instrumentation, spare and confessional songs and vocals that are elegant and emotionally precise, communicating their message without going overboard. Still, the talent that was on display on Nedelle's earlier works is just as evident on The Locksmith Cometh, even if it travels along a different path. Nedelle conveys a rich palate of thoughts and feelings with her vocal performances here, expressing a wounded neediness on "Every Single Spring", catty jealousy on "Your Fiancé" and a girlish curiosity about life's mysteries on "Spell The Night Right".
