This recording and performance does this exquisite little Requiem perfect justice.The sensitive baton of the esteemed John Eliot Gardiner conjures heavenly playing from the English Baroque Soloists,and there is some superb work done by both choir and soloists.I honestly can't recommend this CD too highly to you.To reach this far in the ... database you will no doubt be an old hand in the Requiem collecting business,and are now casting around for new prey.Well,let me assure you that this setting can sit proudly beside your cherished copies of Verdi,Mozart,Faure,Victoria et al;and will not blush to hold it's head high in such exalted company.I love it and I challenge you not to take it to your heart as well.
