Pheno (fee-no) is Australian electric guitarist and singer Jess Green's new pseudonym. As Pheno she is pioneering her own style of Art-Pop. Influenced by artists such as Tune-Yards, Dirty Projectors and St Vincent, with a huge nod to 80’s heroes David Bowie and Talking Heads, the songs, written and co-produced by Jess, layer shimmering vocals, scorching electric guitars, synthesisers, and quirky beats. Lyrical material ranges from Sci-Fi musings in utero (There Are Voices Out There') to ethereal callings from the deep ('Shadow in The Water'). Aside from Green's warm and powerful vocals, and skilled, blazing guitar, the band features the cream of Australian Talent.
