Like Charles Bukowski fronting Crazy Horse, we wanted to be literate yet loud, even a little sludgy. We set the time machine to 1972 and let the chips fall where they would. We met in a writing workshop at Binghamton University. The professor was insane, mostly in a good way. So we named ourselves after her. It was a Lynyrd Skynyrd joke. The band on this one is Ian Parfrey (vocals and guitar), Frank Giliberti (lead guitars), Ryan Egan (bass), and Jared Harel (drums and percussion). It was recorded and mixed by Frank, in Binghamton, Woodbury, and Massapequa Park. Some of this material was road tested at New York City places like Kenny's Castaways, The Continental, The Lion's Den, CBGB's Annex, The Nutty Irishman, and Massapequa's own Blue Parrot, where we were heckled into playing "Locomotive Breath" by a drunk old lady who did not care for our originals.
