• Originally hailing from Atlanta Georgia, Jewell Fortenberry (Jay Dub) received his Bachelors of Classical Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, studying with teachers Peter Takacs and Francis Walker-Slocum, as well as studying jazz music under pianist/organist Dan Wall. Jay Dub has performed as a classical solo act as well as a band leader in multiple locations around the world including being featured in concert in Germany at Halmuhle zu Bissersheim and Wolfratshausen, as well as performing as a guest on National Public Radio's “From The Top”. And “Making The Grade”. He was featured as a guest performer for the National Black Arts festival and for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Recording Arts and sciences, performing alongside such artists as Usher and Kenny Lattimore in honor of the late Ray Charles.
