This album is the result of what was intended to be a three week recording project. The plan, to record in the live performance style of the early 70’s retro counterparts, to capture the vibe, the feeling and the intimacy often associated with great soul records of the past. Of course within a budget, that ran out after buying reels of tape. The whole three week part didn’t really work out so well. Using my barely 900 square foot house and a lot of favors, I captured the experience with surprising success though. Everything you hear was performed by a real person, on a real instrument with several other people, in my living room. We had days when success came after 2 hours, and there times when it took two weeks. The point in all of this project take a snapshot of when it was right. But no computers were used to record or for that matter allowed to “fix” or “correct” any aspect of the performance. Listening at the end I can say that is ...
