I put a lot of myself into this album. It came together rather quickly, but I think that's because I had a lot to say. I didn't necessarily mean for it to take on a concept, but it does evolve from one story to the next as if I had planned it that way. The first few songs on the album give you a taste of my influence from old school hip-hop. I grew up listening to artists like Biggie and Big L and they had a strong influence on my journey to becoming a musician. You can really hear that old school hip-hop flow on songs like Accolades and Right Track. The intro track, Comin' Up Fast, came to me one morning while I couldn't sleep, as most of my songs do. I wanted the intro track to be a short one that got right to the point. It doesn't waste time and gets right to the clever wordplay from the jump. I had a lot of fun making that song.
