Tsholofelo’s first offering titled “Becoming” , is set be released independently mid 2017. It is a 9 track album which explores the notion of ‘home’ as a feeling recognized within self and as a feeling recognized and felt within other people, as opposed to home as a physical structure. It is what she calls a “very autobiographical body of work”. In it , she explores her identity as a woman and individual learning about life and love, while reflecting on who she was, her upbringing and home environment. There is almost a tension between the two (her as a child and her as a woman), yet she realizes the tension as an integral part of discovery and evolution, hence the title ,”Becoming”. In no particular genre, she articulates her journey through a blend of different styles of music while remaining sonically cohesive.
