Worship styles change. The church we attended when I was a child used The Baptist Hymnal. When I got to the youth group, we sang choruses as well as hymns that had been stylistically updated. Over time, fewer and fewer hymns are being used in worship. I'm not lamenting the change to newer styles, but I have always felt the words of hymns speak to me differently than choruses do, and I felt it was time for me to highlight some of those hymns that have always spoken to me. I have attempted to craft this CD in such a way that it will flow like a worship service, though each song has stood the test of time and can be heard on its own. It is my prayer that the words in these songs will bring you comfort, insight, renewal, and hope.
