Chipego, a Zambian name meaning Gift. It is a name she grappled with till the day she realised it was hers to keep. Having grown up in South Africa didn't help. The name tended to be unfamiliar to those she introduced herself to. This was a time where the self-concept of being African was weakened by western influence. African stories and names were foreign to African kids. "Fast forward to today, I write best from the perspective of the African kid in training- like a young wandering spirit who must lear the craft of existing powerfully", says Chipego. ‘Keep on’ is a song signifying the beginning of many chapters, in a book of lost dreams and solved mysteries.
