I wrote these songs for a virtuoso country singer. She never quite got around to recording them so my husband suggested I record them myself. At first, I said "No Way!" But then, I thought, "What the heck." And so, over time I recorded these songs that I wrote. Richard Bredice brings his magnificent brilliance to this CD by playing guitar, drums, mandolin, keyboards, and yes...washboard. Black Sage is the name of a local beautiful indigenous purple flower of southern California. I, too, am a native Californian raised on Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, and Bonnie Raitt. This CD, "Jack's Corner," is named after a tiny bar surrounded by sage-covered cattle grazing land that has survived the local development of southern California.
