Death of The King is a two-fold meaning. First, I'm doing away with the no-fi, opting for a more cohesive sound. Sure, it's still a bit on the lo-fi side, but that's intentional. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm getting there mentally--so I figure "why not" with regards to showcasing that on this album. Secondly, this trilogy, the "Songs For..." trilogy, it's been about finding oneself in the midst of an identity crisis. In the beginning of the trilogy, I was living a lie, that everything was fine and that the "No-Fi King" was all that I was. I was also dealing with mental illnesses that were going untreated and misdiagnosed. As time went on, and I matured, I grew out of just being the "No-Fi King." I also was forced to seek help for my problems. So, to kill the "King," I'm saying that I'm doing away with the gimmicks, the foolishness, and I'm letting my true story be told.
