Raga Jhinjhoti Jhinjhoti is an important thumari raga but is performed in the dhrupad dhamar and khayal styles of music as well. In this raga, the vadi or main note is ga . The samvadi, the second most prominent note, is the flat ni. This raga is usually played late in the night as Shiv aradhana. Of late, Raga Jhinjhoti has also been adapted as a romantic raga. In this rendition of Raga Jhinjhoti, Ustad Shahid Parvez begins with "alap, iod, jhaala and vilambit or slow composition in teentaal (sixteen beats). This is followed by two Madhya laya (medium speed) compositions and a drut (fast) gat. Ustadji sings the main line of the second madhya laya composition "Savane salone se laage more nain..”. He then continues with a very rare and old gat. In the final drut portion, Ustadji ends with a very fast jhala.
