Raycee & Mills is the brainchild of Raycee Jones and Mark Mills, two singer- songwriters performing acoustic, vocal-driven original music and a wide variety of compelling covers. The two performers met at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY while competing against each other in a singing competition. Though neither won the competition, it sparked a friendship that became a songwriting partnership in 2009. A successful Kickstarter campaign started them on the road to their first studio recording, an eponymous EP. The record showcases both singers against a backdrop of plaintive piano and lush strings. The six-song album will be released independently in October 2012 Jones & Mills are also members of the NYC soul/rock/pop band, The Dirty Gems, currently touring the Northeast. Raycee & Mills are based in Brooklyn, NY.
