This debut release puts a well known Texas guitarist into the spot light as he churns out song after song that you might expect to hear in any honky tonk or old dance hall. Although he has much respect for his Texas Country and Red Dirt contemporaries, Reeves' sound tends to lean more towards artists such as Gary Stewart, Gene Watson, George Jones, etc. whose songs Reeves cut his teeth on while playing venues in West Texas as a kid. For 'A Good Year For Beer', Reeves summoned some of the top players in Texas to lend their talents to this project. Alongside Reeves' fantastic vocals and lead guitar, you'll hear Johnny Bushes fiddler Ron Knuth, bassist Allen Chapman who has played behind many greats including Ray Price and Johnny Rodriguez, and a plethora of other hot pickers who definitely make this CD a must have for any Country music fan.
