Yung Pilot was born Bobby Nichols in Wilmington NC, Aug 7, 1988. He grew up on the south side of the Port City, but was raised in Bolton, North Carolina by his grandmother. By the age of five, he was singing all around the region with his father and two sisters at multiple churches. As he progressed in age, he taught himself the art of rapping. He knew he was bound to be in the industry after purchasing his first CD, a double back 2 Pac set. From the point forward, he worked to write his own materials. Shortly after this development, he began working on free styling. At age 14, his favorite rapper and lyricist became Jay-Z.
