So begins "Tight Like That", the first track on this EP-length album, a song immortalized by the great blues singer Clara Smith. This project was conceived by Jamie Aditya and Kelland Thomas as a blending of traditional jazz, blues, gospel, and soul into a new exciting sound. Aditya's compelling vocal performances, influenced by such R & B greats as Sam Cooke, Al Green, and Prince, give a modern edge to these classic tunes. The songs are performed with reverence and love for the history of American roots music by Thomas and his band of Tucson-based musicians.
