Jessica “JR” Jefferies Biography As a young girl growing up on the south side of Chicago, Jessica Robbie Jefferies had dreams of becoming a singer/actress/model/dancer. In the beginning, she never really saw them as anything more than just dreams. Faced with the stereotypical realities of being too short to do runway, too inexperienced to pursue acting, and too broke to live life as a dancer, Jessica struggled, but pressed on, while continuing to sing in school choirs, weddings, and talent shows. With a lack of resources and money to independently pursue a music career, Jessica kept her eyes open for opportunities to display her talents. An opportunity soon came when Sean Combs was looking for additional members to complete his girl group now known as Danity Kane.
