Two versions of 'Down By The River' were recorded during the 'Long Journey' Album sessions, this is the original version and is 'Down By The River' - Single. Les Payne, Steve Ashall and Doug Hearn are three song writers from Buckinghamshire England. Les having record contracts with EMI, RCA and Island records in the 1970’s. Polydor records in 1980’s and was also a staff writer for Chappell / Warner and was managed by Martin Birch. In more recent times 2009 / 2010 he has performed at the Isle Wight festival. Steve and Doug have release one previous album with CDBaby, with their Band the ‘The Kez’ and have had recent success on YouTube with over 150,000 views of some of their songs Eight of the songs from ‘Long Journey’ were written between October 2012 and February 2013, and subsequently recorded at Dream Catcher studio, High Wycombe, England, by Les, Steve and Doug.
