After Charlie Manner's false arrest by members of the South African Police Services, he decided to delve deeper into race relations in Nelson Mandela's "Rainbow Nation". By drawing inspiration from his own experiences, those of his community and the experiences of the Africans of the Diaspora, he wrote and produced The Way I Is as a chronicle of The Black Experience in the 21st Century.
