Dru Long AKA Soulfiya is a veteran heavy weight in the American reggae scene. He began his career as a guest Dj for the influential roots reggae outfit The Gideon Band in Riverside, California. At that time Long attended nearby University of the Redlands where he was on scholarship to play football. This however was not meant to be, Dru broke his jaw in 3 places in a bar fight just 3 months into his first semester. Losing his scholarship AND the ability to perform, Fiya made his way to Galveston Island. There he met friends and future bandmates Shark Attack and James Sturrock (then of Dreadneck). The boys from Shark Attack gave Dru the connections to meet and network with many of the nation's top tier reggae acts. One such act was Florida's Part One Tribe, their smooth melodic style coupled well with Fiya's blazing vocal intensity.
