BIOGRAPHY Marshall Bland, known by his stage name “Big Goon” is a well known local recording rap artist. Born in Monticello, Georgia to Temp and Shirley Bland, he and his family soon after relocated to Fort Myers, Florida. Known as “The City of Palms”, it is the home of Atlantic Records recording artist “Plies” and NFL Players such as Deon Sanders, Jevon Kearse and Philip Buchanon. His upbringing was challenging and full of adversity due to his parents having the responsibility of providing for 5 children, with “Big Goon” being the oldest. Trying to help his parents with household obligations, he quickly turned to the streets to make a living and partook in all that the “fast life” entails, which eventually led to his arrest. During his incarceration, he was faced with no choice but to make a decision on his life.
