Michael T. Smith Born in Nashville, Tennessee and growing up in Owensboro, Kentucky, Michael left for his first Texas visit to enter the Van Cliburn Piano Competition, meeting Mr. Cliburn personally and starting his college music career, getting a Bachelor of Music at Baylor University. Marrying high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sharon, they began their lives together while at Baylor, through Southwestern Seminary, graduating with a Master of Music, and starting full-time church music ministry. After serving at First Baptist Church, Hearne, Texas through those preparatory years, Michael has served as full-time Minister of Music and Worship Pastors at First Baptist Church, Silver Spring, MD, First Baptist Church, Conroe, TX, Parkway Baptist Church, Jackson, MS, First Baptist Church Arlington, TX and First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, TX, where he served for 21 years.
