I always try to 'capture the moment' with improvisational playing. It's scary to be so transparent musically and emotionally through an instrument and yet it is also ultimately rewarding when it's successful. I believe there are still instrumental pieces being composed that can speak directly to us - and what those pieces say to us makes us decide to listen to the same conversations again and again or ...not. I hope and pray that what is being said and played is something that appeals to an universal audience. I pray it's something we can share together ... for the 'moment.'
