About a year ago, I decided I would like to produce a Christmas album. I didn't want all the usual Christmas songs, because there is no way I can improve on what has already been done over the years. I began to think of ways to sing about Christmas that were a little different, and unique to me. This album, Simple Country Christmas, is the culmination of that desire. Track 1 (Simple Country Christmas) is my thoughts about keeping the celebrations simple and Christ centered. Track 2 (Christmas Without You) is dedicated to my nephew Brian (and his family), who is in Afghanistan, and more broadly, to all soldiers and their families who must be apart during this time. Track 3 (Christmas In The Heartland) is for my extended family. Track 4 (If There Had Been Cowboys) is a fanciful song for kids, who wonder about so many different things.
