Refining a sound is never something that is easily accomplished overnight. In 2004, the reshaping of the band Maskil began to take place. Revising the writing style and placing new emphasis on the shared lead vocals of Aaron Everitt and Anna Grohn Everitt, have paid mighty dividends in the refined and thoughtful sound of the band Maskil. Relying as usual on the steady and tasteful playing of the Borley Brothers, Ben (Bass & Pedal Steel Guitar) and Andrew (Drums) this latest album provides a true “band” sound. In the past the Maskil product was largely the result of the songwriting and singing of front man Aaron Everitt, however in this latest rendition, all notions of how a song was created was put aside and the band began to dedicate time to writing and composing.
