English Abdallah Helmi, a truly complete artist, a master and legend of the Kawala and Ney flute (both ancient Egyptian instruments). Sitting next to this man and watching him play was an inspiring journey for me. He's one of those rare people you meet that have an infinite amount of talent and a soul full of music. This album is a journey into this man's influences and inspirations. A journey from the heart of the simple villages of upper Egypt, to Cairo's bustling nightlife, to contemporary fusion. I consider myself extremely lucky producing this man's work, it's an honor few have ever had. We only hope that listening to this album would take you on the same journey we've had while making it.
