Singer, guitarist and songwriter Scott Perkins taps deep into his soulful blues-rock roots for his second CD, “Palm Trees in Da Keweenaw,” released in April, 2008. Recorded in Scott’s Houghton, Michigan studio, the CD takes its title from the Keweenaw Peninsula (pronounced “Key wee naw”), the northernmost tip of the state jutting into Lake Superior. “Keweenaw’s inspiring natural scenery and lively music scene have nurtured my continuing evolution as a musician,” says Perkins. “The new CD gave me an opportunity to delve into my love of traditional blues as well as expressing some of the most current issues of our time in my songs 'Global Warming' and 'Brothers in This Land.'"
