In spring of 2014 Alyssa was named the Best Collegiate Vocal Jazz Soloist of 2014 in DownBeat Magazine's Student Music Awards. In fall of 2014 she was selected as one of the top 40 semifinalists of the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Alyssa currently leads The Alyssa Allgood Quintet, which specializes in her original compositions and original arrangements of jazz standards. She also leads the Alyssa Allgood Duo, which specializes in music of the Great American Songbook. Alyssa has performed for a number of different events and venues in the greater Chicagoland area.
