Doot-Doot - Fantasy for Broadcast Signal and Car or Truck Horn This tune is one Art Maddox and I originally wrote back in 1982 as an opening and closing theme for the Toronto based THE SCTV NETWORK comedy show on NBC, but the show went off the air before it got plugged in. Since they didn’t use it, I got to keep it. I liked the fact that it was a comedy inspired tune, so I turned it into a pseudo-classical comedy bit for the Smothers Brothers. Dick played the signal on a handheld Casio keyboard and Tom played a klaxon horn. They premiered it on a Dick Clark TV special "Super Stars and Classic Cars," that aired on Dec 2nd, 1983, which was a benefit to raise funds to help keep Bill Harrahs' antique auto collection intact. They also played it on "Saturday Night Live”. I subsequently found a great spot for this tune in my live concerts, especially in my Christmas concerts in Oregon.
