Elation is an a'capella group comprised of 6 women: Donna Small-Pope, Gigi Allen, Melanie Hunter, Lynsey Smith, Kerri Persaile and Holly Shrock, who all worshiped together at the Saturn Road church of Christ in Garland, TX. The original group was formed to sing at an annual women's retreat. We had so much fun that we continued to rehearse, learn new pieces and create our own arrangements. In the summer of 1999, we went to the Main Street Studio and without the aid of air conditioning during the recordings (it was too loud, so it only got turned on in between takes - it got hot in there!), we made the one and only recording we have of ourselves. Soon after, the group dissolved, although we are all still friends.
