The replife sound is often described as a fusion of hip-hop, nu soul, nu jazz, and broken beat. Starting at the young age of 12, Rep gained national recognition as a poet and rapper over a decade ago. But in 2001, replife decided to hang up his microphone, believing that his days as a performance artist had passed him by.
