During the writing sessions for their upcoming funk/soul release, BJ Block and Dawn Pemberton found themselves with a great acoustic ballad on their hands. The song was longing to be written and shared, but it wasn't quite clear how it would fit on the new record. Rather than becoming a 'B side' on the new album, the two felt the song could take on an identity of its own and decided to release it as a single in partnership with Nation's Cry. Inspired by the vision and mission of Nation's Cry, "We Cry" explores the common joys and pains that unite all of us regardless of our varied backgrounds and circumstances. By invoking hope and passion, 'We Cry' is a call to action and a stirring tribute to the resilient human spirit!
