Ex-Wise Heads is the product of a chance meeting between bass player Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree) and multi-instrumentalist Geoff Leigh, (best known for his work with the legendary Henry Cow). Since forming the band in 1998, Ex-Wise Heads have given their own curiously English and refreshing take on improvised and world influenced music, with four releases on their own “Hard World” label. A blend of both timeless and contemporary sounds, latest album “Liquid Assets” is a focussed development of the Ex-Wise Heads sound, blending ambient, textural atmospheres with elemental rhythmic patterns, striking solo performances and deep basslines. Guest musicians are trumpeter Ian Dixon (Ape,Ute, Irmin Schmidt), Rick Edwards (No-Man, Hossam Ramsay, etc) on various percussion, whilst Rajan Spolia adds unique acoustic guitar performances, inspired by the Indian classical tradition.
