Jukkis Uotila, a Finnish drummer, pianist and composer known for his associations with Randy Brecker, Toots Thielemans, Tim Hagans, Joey Calderazzo, Billy Cobham and many other ventures out in the field of orchestral music on his first ever Big Band CD with The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra. Uotila’s writing can be described as modern jazz in the tradition of Thad Jones, Quincy Jones and Bob Mintzer but definitely with a new twist and accent on the groove. The CD features him on piano and drums along with the soloists of The Stockholm jazz Orchestra and guest saxophonist Dick Oatts.
