Born and raised in Texas, Trey aka Trepaper grew up listening to a variety of hip hop. Among the artists that influenced the future rapper were Big Daddy Kane, UGK, Too Short and NWA. Surrounding him were a lot of his friends who, like him, wanted to rap. But without the money to buy any beats or to pay for a studio to record in Trey decided stack his money and purchase his own studio equipment. At age 18, Trey moved to California. Settled in the Bay Area. Armed with a Triton keyboard, a MPC 2000 beat machine, Pro Tools, and a microphone Trey, released his first album “Tha Way I See It Iz How I Spit It” in 2003. Illustrating tales of sex, drama, drugs and women, TrePaper was able to showcase his skills on the board by producing 12 out of 14 tracks on the album.
