As the Southern Hemisphere inches towards summer, Sanoi and Rattler have delivered a perfect soundtrack for long days dancing in the Antipodean sun. Sampling Edwin Starr and channelling El Topo, ‘Walking’ is a gritty, galloping hero’s journey into the sweatiest expanses of the deep house desert. Sanoi is a Berlin artist now residing in New Zealand, where he’s spent the last two years churning out festival-friendly releases for Bar 25, Stil Vor Talent, and Beat & Path. There’s a strong theme of desert enlightenment running through Sanoi’s repertoire, and this should appeal to fans of Sol Selectas, Acid Pauli and Bedouin. For the A-side, Sanoi joins up with Jake Rattler from Waihi Beach, a festival regular whose ‘Ball Pit’ sessions on Noize Radio deliver strong underground deep house.
